Transitional Housing: Food Waste Smart Recycling in the STEP

Cornerstone Smart Recycling’s SmartClassify 120 Food Waste Smart Bin has officially been deployed at “The STEP” in Yuen Long. Installed conveniently beside the community’s shared kitchen, the recycling facility seamlessly integrates into residents’ daily routines to deliver exceptional accessibility.

The STEP is constructed using advanced Modular Integrated Construction (MiC), offering approximately 1,080 residential units to accommodate around 2,700 residents. From architectural planning to living spaces and auxiliary facilities, the project comprehensively embeds sustainability into urban planning from day one, creating a comfortable and low-carbon living community for its residents.

By providing IoT-enabled food waste smart bin, reward systems, data management platforms, and related services, we empower community residents to embrace a lower-carbon, greener lifestyle, helping the public cultivate eco-friendly habits in a more seamless and accessible way possible.
