Since 2023, Cornerstone has been leading the deployment of food waste smart bins (FWSBs) in designated residential areas across Hong Kong, supporting the city’s transition toward smarter, more sustainable waste management. The first successful implementation took place at Noble Hill, marking the beginning of a new model for residential food waste recycling through technology.
RSB project aims to help residential buildings to adopt smart recycling solutions to facilitate convenient, hygienic, and traceable food waste collection. By combining advanced IoT technologies with user engagement features, Cornerstone supports communities in reducing food waste effectively and contributing to Hong Kong’s circular economy goals.
Key Features:
Smart Food Waste Bin Deployment: Installation of IoT-enabled bins equipped with sensors for weight detection, fill-level monitoring, and operation tracking.
User Identification & Reward Integration: Residents can scan their smart cards to register participation, earn points through connected reward systems, and monitor their recycling performance.
System Integration & Data Management: Real-time data transmission to backend servers ensures accurate recording, performance analysis, and reporting for continuous improvement.
Community Support: Provides residents with clear recycling guidance, system demonstrations, and educational materials to encourage consistent participation.
Cornerstone is leading the system design, installation, and platform integration for participating residential estates. Not only having FWSBs installed in public rental housing estates (PRHs), our solution is also ready for private residential settings.
