Environment and Conservation Fund Source Separation Initiative for Beverage Carton and Plastic Bottle Recycling

Hong Kong government is steadily preparing the Producer Responsibility Scheme (PRS) under “polluter pays” principle, targeting plastic beverage containers and cartons next. In February, Cornerstone has started deploying 2 tailored RVM at Citywalk 2 and HiuLaiCourt, with more coming in March!

The newly introduced RVM in this program is set to accept plastic beverage containers and cartons with capacity ranged from 100ml to 2L. Featuring auto-sorting for plastic bottles and beverage cartons, fault control system, compaction system, and fill level monitoring—our RVMs deliver reliable, data-rich performance across diverse premises.

Each user can return up to 30 beverage containers each day, and for each return, user will receive 1 point per beverage container directly on the App. To ensure clean recycling, please empty, clean and rinse containers before recycling.

Type Collection

Plastic beverage containers and cartons can be accepted for recycling. User is encouraged to rinse the recyclables and empty the content before recycling.

Tips for returning:

• Empty, clean and rinse containers
• Cut open the top of tetra pak
• For plastic beverage containers, do not remove cap and barcode label
• Do not crush, deform or damage containers
• Only accept products sold locally
• Accept volume between 100ml and 2L

Return Process

1. Empty, clean and rinse containers
2. Download the app “ecobuddy 友賞回收” before recycling
3. Barcode facing upwards, insert clean beverage container
4. Points rewards (1 point per beverage container)
