The Highlights

When it comes to recycling, most often we think about homes or offices, shopping malls or other high-rise buildings. The construction site is an important area that can be overlooked, yet is a place that has a high potential for recycling efforts.

We are fully aware that more educational efforts are needed in order to encourage more participation.

Construction and demolition (C&D) waste of Hong Kong is mainly composed of a mixture of waste arising from (1) 90% solid inert C&D materials generated from construction work(mainly sand, bricks and concrete) suitable for land reclamation and land formation works, are disposed of at public filling areas, and (2) non inert portion (packaging waste, plastics, glass, paper, and other organic materials) mostly ends up at municipal solid waste landfills.
Non-inert substances in construction waste is subject to recovery of reusable/ recyclable items. The best way to recycle on construction site is to use sorting facilities to handle non inert recyclables. 
To collect and prevent recyclable municipal waste being sent to landfills, Cornerstone introduces smart recycling stations at construction sites for on site waste sorting, temporary storage of segregated waste material for further upcycling.
Our smart recycling station with auto sorting system enables to collect multi-type of beverage containers, offering public a convenient and rewarding way to recycle and get involved in the practice of waste reduction and waste separation at source, allowing them to adopt an eco-conscious lifestyle from work.
