RVM Project with Shatin District Council

The Highlights

In order to enhance community participation in waste reduction and recycling, and to gather support from all sectors of the community, the Government has been implementing district-based waste reduction at source and recycling promotion activities in collaboration with the DCs.
The Programme aims to further expand the scope of community mobilization and instil a “Use Less, Waste Less and Clean Recycling” value in the public, at the same time complement the future implementation of the municipal solid waste (MSW) charging so as to encourage them to practise green living.
As to help the society to strengthen the awareness to relevant policy and to get prepared for MSW charging, Cornerstone has introduced reverse vending machines (“RVM”) within Shatin District for roving exhibition.
